Medical Students

SO who am I? Well that would be telling but I suppose a context is required so here we go, are you ready for it.

I
Am
a Medical Student.

- I should be hearing resounding applause or the soft oos and susurations of deep contentment.

I'm kidding. It's not glamorous or at times terribly exciting, but it is fun and a fantastic way to spend 6 years of your life. Take it from me, the insides of people are desperately cool, no really, they are.

However learning about them is not.

It's been a long Long long time that I've been at university and frankly I want to be a doctor now. Currently I'm supposed to be revising but actually all I can think about is the bizarre nature of people's taste. (yes I am aware that this is completely unrelated more on the medicine later)

Let me give an example:

A friend of mine currently has a new girlfriend. She's European, he's got red hair and bada boom it's love. It's all very lovely but it does beg the question what do they see in each other. What is this mystical quality that brings people together- or not? It's a pet musing of mine this quality *or lack thereof and it's ability to create, wait for it, love, oh yes we're bringing out the big words now. What do people see, is it quick or slow? Is it innate or learned? Can someone change your mind? Can someone ruin everything with just one word? I'm interested to know what you all think. We're bombarded with literature and science and a nauseating plethora of media telling us conflicting theories. Don't do this and do do that. She wants this, and he doesn't like that. But does it all boil down to the fact that actually you just find them not bad looking and as the great Richard Curtis would have it they don't find you that bad either (misquote I know).

What does this all have to do with exams? Nothing frankly but I'd rather think about how they managed to find affection and companionship in this seething city of millions than read any more about clotting disorders.

A happy blog day

So apparently this is a the new trend that I have yet to be a part of, clearly I am quite behind the times as the blog phenomenon has come and passed me by. A friend of mine recommended it as a form of therapy and I thought how desperately egotistical to send out to the universe what is essentially a rant about your life. Who actually cares?!

Nevertheless I have chosen to begin and so I shall. I shall utilise it as a project and before you all shudder in unison- no this is not another inspiration from the film (if you know what film & book I'm talking about then I'm targeting the right people!)

I hope to entertain and intrigue and also reflect on the sheer bizarre nature of our existence. Living in the nation's capital has it's remarkable benefits - you're never going to get this many crazy people in one place without something funny happening! Well here goes...
